5 Natural ways to take care of your curls

Did you know you don’t need lots of products to make your curls look bouncy and lustrous? The chemical damage takes ages to recover your hair. So, how to take care of curly hair without using heat and other harmful ingredients? Well, to avoid such a situation you need to use natural methods.

So, are you ready to transform your frizzy hair into bouncy curls? Follow these natural ways to take care of curly hair within no time.

  1. Use Sulfate and Silicone free Products

Curly hair always leaves its original texture and becomes dry quickly. To cope with this condition, curly hair needs lots of moisture to keep them alive all the time. Harsh chemicals like sulfate and silicones are not good for your hair’s health as they strip away all the moisture leaving your hair dry and damaged.

So, if you are a curly-haired girl like me, check the ingredients list of your regular conditioner and shampoo and if it has these harsh ingredients it’s time to switch to paraben and sulfate-free products. These kinds of products are very gentle on your scalp and prevent your hair from damage and dryness.

Best Sulphate free shampoo

The sulfate-free shampoo I use is Xhc strawberry and it works best for me. You can check the other mild shampoos according to your hair type. I recently switched to Jamaican black castor oil shampoo which turned out to be an absolute gem for my hair you can use the conditioner of the same brand which is paraben and sulfate free.

Remember one thing: use shampoo only once or twice a week as the natural oils present in the scalp keep your hair healthy and shiny. Excess use of shampoo will make them more brittle and prone to damage.

  1. Curly Hair craves conditioner

As I have already discussed in my previous point, curly hair needs lots of moisture so conditioner is what you need to improve your hair’s texture.

I used to have very harsh and dry hair due to bleach and balayage treatments but hands down to the most amazing conditioner on earth “Suave Natural Daily clarifying Conditioner”. Yes, this product does wonders for my hair.

This conditioner is so mild and gentle that I can blindly use it every day for clarifying the specks of dirt and oil present on my scalp.

How to use conditioner for curly hair?

Applying conditioner in your old way is no more a game now. Did you know the right product can turn into a nightmare when you are not familiar with the correct usage? So today I am going to walk you through the steps of using conditioner for your coily strands.

Clarifying

When you are done applying shampoo it’s time to clarify your scalp with a sulfate and paraben-free conditioner.

1. Now take a handful of conditioner and wash your scalp with it.

2. Wet your hair and continue to massage the conditioner on your scalp so your hair can retain all the moisture.

3. Once you are done massaging. Now, rinse off the excess conditioner with the same friction which you used at the time of application. It’s essential to remove all the conditioner from your scalp as it is not a healthy ritual for your hair.

4. Now, apply conditioner on your hair by skipping the roots and waiting for 5 minutes so your hair can soak moisture for a softer look.

Now, it’s time to rinse off the conditioner but try to leave some of the conditioners in your hair and start scrunching till you have achieved coily strands.

5. Now, take a t-shirt or microfiber towel and plop your hair for half an hour for drying.

6. Now, take off the cloth from your scalp, and woah! You have gained some bouncy curls.

  1. Use Flaxseed gel

Did you know flax seeds not only help to grow hair faster, but the gel we get from flax seeds helps to lock your curls for longer?

Yes, you will be astonished to learn the fact that flax seed itself has numerous benefits.

When it comes to hair it’s great to use natural remedies rather than relying on harmful chemicals.

The shine and volume we get from chemicals are not long-lasting, so flax seed gel is what your dull and damaged hair has been craving for ages.

According to the research flax seed not only has health benefits but works great for your hair. The natural seed is proven to increase hair growth by providing nourishment to the hair follicles.

So if you are trying to boost your hair health, eat two tablespoons of raw flaxseeds for better health and faster hair growth.

I have been using flaxseed gel for a year and my hair has drastically changed.

You can apply the gel on your strands without worrying about side effects. Once you are done applying the gel, scrunch your hair for a desirable appearance of curls.

How to make flaxseed gel?

When it comes to buying a flax seed gel don’t rush into the market for a product with lots of chemicals. You can make your flax seed gel at home with no hassle. So let’s see how one can make this gel within no time.

1. All you need to do is take 3 full glasses of water and bring it to a boil.

2. Once the water starts bubbling up, add 2 tablespoons of flaxseed and let it boil for 5-6 minutes.

3. Now, once you have achieved separating the gel from the flax seeds it’s time to let them cool for about 2 minutes.

4. Now take a satin cloth and strain your gel so that you can apply it without those sticky seeds.

5. Fill the gel in a tight container and make sure to put it in a freezer for longer shelf life.

Tip-Don’t let the gel cool for a long time as it will be hard for you to strain the seeds.

If the gel is looking like a clot you can add some water to it until you have achieved your desired consistency.

When should you apply flaxseed gel?

You can use the gel after taking a shower or whenever you are refreshing your curls it’s the best time to hold them with homemade flaxseed gel.

Caution- Use the gel within one week for the best results.
